Hi, I am elizabeth rose
Hello!!! My name is Elizabeth Rose. Photography has been woven into my life since I was a child. i was first drawn to the camera in the fourth grade as a way to hold onto moments I didn't have. There were few photographs in my home- only albums from when i was a baby, not much visual proof of belonging. My Mother was in survival mode, working two jobs, and much of my childhood was shaped by neglect and abandonment from extended family. I learned early what it felt like to be unseen.
So I picked up a camera to document my friends, the people that were becoming my family. Photography became a way to preserve connection. to create evidence that love, intimacy, and belonging were real. I was here. We mattered.
For many years, my own wounds kept my photography intimate and contained. It lived mostly for me.. an emotional & expressive archive. Then, in my late 30s during a profound season of healing, I returned to school. My inner child was begging for me to create again but with intention and purpose this time.
Today, my work centers around women-helping them to see themselves as beautiful, resilient, powerful and expressive. I often photograph them in connection with nature, drawing on the elements of earth, as mirrors of their inner worlds. Through their bodies, their stories, their pain and their strength. I seek to capture not only who they are but who they are becoming.
I create spaces for women to be fully seen in whatever feels true for them. My work holds room for storytelling and fantasy, branding and entrepreneurship, love and relationships, motherhood and self- discovery, softness and boldness. Each image becomes a reflection of something real, something worthy of being witnessed and remembered.
Photography has been a tool for my own healing and now it’s the way I help others reconnect with themselves. My intention is not simply to take photographs, but to hold space-for truth, for transformation, and for expansion across every season and version of a woman's life. I want the women and men I photograph to see themselves clearly, to feel powerful in their bodies and stories, and to walk away loving themselves more fully and authentically then before.
